All Eyes on Judiciary as Supreme Court Rules on ADC Leadership Dispute Today
The Supreme Court of Nigeria is set to deliver judgment today (Thursday) in the ongoing leadership dispute within the African Democratic Congress (ADC).
The apex court had earlier heard an appeal on April 22, 2026, between Senator David Mark and that impostor Nafiu Bala Gombe, before reserving its ruling.
The much-anticipated verdict is expected to determine the legitimate leadership of the party ahead of the 2027 general elections.
The apex court will, by 2 pm, rule on three appeals, including one filed by former Senate President David Mark, on the leadership structure of the ADC.

It was learnt that the apex court’s registry has since communicated the information to the parties.
Similarly, The Supreme Court will also deliver judgements on the leadership disputes in the Peoples Democratic Party.
The PDP appeal was filed by a faction led by Kabir Tanimu Turaki, challenging a Court of Appeal judgement delivered on 9 March in Abuja.

The appellate court upheld earlier rulings of the Federal High Court, which invalidated the party’s convention held in Ibadan, Oyo State, from 15 to 16 November last year.
The lower courts held that the convention, which produced Mr Turaki and other party executives, was illegal and barred the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) from recognising its outcomes.
