Obidient Movement Rejects Parallel Structures, Warns Against Unauthorized Groups
The Obidient Movement has distanced itself from what it described as unauthorized individuals and groups allegedly attempting to create parallel structures under names designed to cause confusion about the movement’s identity and leadership.
In a statement signed by the National Coordinator of the movement, Yunusa Tanko, the group said it does not recognize any faction, alternative leadership, or parallel structure outside its officially established framework aligned with Peter Obi.
The movement warned members of the public, supporters in Nigeria and the diaspora, media organizations, and other stakeholders against associating with groups operating under “derivative or deceptively similar identities.”

According to the statement, such groups do not represent the ideals, values, or leadership of the Obidient Movement.
“The Obidient Movement remains a people-driven movement founded on integrity, accountability, justice, and the collective aspiration for a New Nigeria,” the statement read.

The movement further stated that attempts to misrepresent its identity or exploit its growing influence for ulterior motives would not distract it from its mission and ongoing engagement with Nigerians.
It urged supporters, popularly known as Obidients, to remain united and rely only on information released through officially recognized communication channels of the movement.
Tanko added that the vision of a “New Nigeria” championed by the movement remains “alive, clear, and unwavering.”
