“Our Democracy Must Be Saved” — Obidient Movement Coordinator Meets Sen Dickson in Strategic Opposition Talks
The National Coordinator of the Obidient Movement, Dr. Yunusa Tanko, has held a strategic meeting with the leader of the Nigerian Democratic Congress (NDC), S. H. Dickson, in Abuja, as part of efforts aimed at strengthening opposition coordination and political engagement.
The meeting also had in attendance the FCT Chairman of the party and his secretary. Discussions reportedly centred on how best to mobilise and integrate the Obidient Movement into the structures of the NDC.
Dr. Tanko said the engagement forms part of broader consultations to build a stronger and more unified opposition front capable of driving democratic reforms in the country.

He stressed that despite challenges and what he described as attempts to frustrate the movement’s activities, their mission remains unchanged.
“Our democracy must be saved, and the people must be emancipated and liberated,” he said, emphasizing the need for political inclusion and civic empowerment.

“For A New Nigeria is POssible,” he stated, reaffirming the movement’s long-standing slogan associated with calls for political change.
The meeting has since sparked discussions within political circles, with observers viewing it as part of ongoing realignments among opposition groups ahead of future political contests.
