ADC Self-Destructs By Prioritising Atiku’s Greed while Other Political Parties Zone Presidential Tickets to South — Social Commentator
A social commentator says the African Democratic Congress (ADC) may be “self-destructing” politically by what he described as its prioritisation of the ambitions of former vice president Atiku Abubakar, while other major political parties continue to zone their presidential tickets to the southern region.
The commentator Harmless @HarmlessHQ made the claim in a post on X, arguing that the party’s internal positioning and perceived focus on a single political figure could be affecting its broader national appeal and cohesion ahead of future elections, including the 2027 cycle.

According to the commentator, the All Progressives Congress (APC), Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Labour Party (LP), New Nigeria Democratic Congress (NDC), and African Action Congress (AAC) have all reportedly zoned their presidential tickets to the South as part of internal power-sharing arrangements.

He, however, said that the African Democratic Congress (ADC) is the only major party not following the zoning pattern, which he attributed to an attempt to “please the Unifier,” a reference to Atiku Abubakar.
According to him, while several political parties in Nigeria have adopted zoning arrangements aimed at balancing regional interests particularly by rotating presidential tickets between the North and South, the ADC appears, in his view, to be deviating from this pattern. He suggested that this could create internal dissatisfaction among members from other regions who may feel politically sidelined.
