He encouraged stakeholders to focus on building systems that equip young people with knowledge and skills.

The donation took place in a public setting, with students and members of the university community present.

Obi stood among them as he presented the cheque, which was received by representatives of the institution.

Obi has made education a consistent area of focus since leaving office as governor.

He has donated funds to various schools and universities, often highlighting the importance of learning environments that can produce graduates ready to contribute to national development.

This latest gesture comes amid ongoing discussions in Nigeria about the state of public and private education.

Many institutions continue to face funding gaps, and Obi has used such occasions to call for increased attention and resources from both government and private sources.

The University on the Niger thanked Obi for the support and noted his ongoing interest in the progress of the school.
