VIDEO: ‘I Will Like Peter Obi To Win Again’ — Datti Baba-Ahmed Vows to Oppose Anyone Challenging Obi in 2027
Yusuf Datti Baba-Ahmed has said he would not stand against Peter Obi if the former Labour Party presidential candidate decides to contest the 2027 election, declaring that he would rather support Obi and see him “win again”.
Datti, who was Obi’s running mate in the 2023 presidential election, made the remarks in a video shared on X by a pro-Obi account amid renewed discussions around opposition alliances ahead of the next general election.
In the clip, Datti said he would oppose anyone seeking to challenge Obi within the opposition fold, insisting that Nigeria’s problems required leaders capable of addressing insecurity and governance issues affecting ordinary citizens.

“I will like Peter Obi to win again,” he said during the interview segment circulated online.
The former senator also spoke about continued attacks in parts of the country, including Plateau State, where communities have faced repeated violence from terrorists in recent years.
According to him, many Nigerians remain worried about killings, destruction of villages and the general security situation across several states.
The video was accompanied by political campaign-style graphics promoting an “OK Movement” and a proposed 2027 ticket pairing Obi with former Kano State governor Rabiu Kwankwaso under the platform of the Nigeria Democratic Congress.
The development comes days after Obi’s reported alignment with the emerging political coalition linked to the NDC triggered conversations among supporters and opposition figures about possible realignments ahead of the next election cycle.
Reactions to the video were divided, with some users describing the clip as evidence that opposition figures were beginning to close ranks around Obi, while others claimed the interview may not have been recent.
Several commenters also discussed the implications of possible divisions within opposition parties, arguing that disagreements over candidates and alliances could weaken efforts to challenge Bola Tinubu in 2027.
Supporters of Obi, widely known as the Obidient Movement, have remained active online since the 2023 election, continuing to campaign around issues of governance, corruption, insecurity and economic hardship.
