A King Was Murdered In His Palace, Yet There Is No Outrage From Yoruba People Because They Defend Their ‘Jeroboam’ In Aso Rock — Apostle Olowookere
A Christian cleric and social activist, Apostle Michael Olowookere has condemned what he described as the “disturbing silence” in the Yoruba public space following the killing of a traditional ruler in the South-West.
According to Apostle Olowookere , the lack of collective outrage shows that many people are more interested in defending Bola Tinubu whom he metaphorically referred to as their “Jeroboam” in Aso Villa than demanding justice.
In a strongly worded statement issued on X, Olowookere said it “unthinkable” that a king could be murdered inside his own palace without a widespread uproar from the region.

He accused some Yoruba leaders and supporters of prioritising political loyalty over the sanctity of traditional institutions, arguing that the culture of silence was emboldening criminal elements.
‘’A king in Yoruba land was murdered in his palace, in his community, on Yoruba soil. Not just any Yoruba man, but a king! Guess what? No outrage whatsoever from my Yoruba people. They’ve cowed into their shell like a menstruating tortoise.
‘’An attack right on your own soil for God’s sake. But because you want to defend your Jeroboam in Aso rock, you’re mute! You could attack the Igbos all day who have done nothing but contribute immensely to the growth and prosperity of Nigeria. But will turn blind eyes and deaf ears because the attrocity is committed by Fulani Jihadists.’’
