Tinubu Government Abandons Scholarship Students in Russia, Forces Them to Go Through Harsh Conditions for Daily Survival (VIDEO)

Nigerian students sent to Russia under a government-sponsored scholarship programme have raised concerns over their welfare, alleging prolonged neglect and poor support by Bola Tinubu government since arriving in the country.

The students, who are studying medical and engineering courses under the bilateral education agreement between Nigeria and Russia, claim they were sent abroad for academic training but have since been left without consistent financial backing or adequate welfare arrangements.

According to them, the absence of timely stipends and support has made it increasingly difficult to cope with basic living expenses such as accommodation, feeding, transportation, and other daily necessities. They allege that many beneficiaries are now struggling to survive in a foreign environment without family or institutional support on ground.

Some of the students further state that the hardship has forced several of them to take up menial jobs in order to meet their basic needs, despite the fact that such conditions were not part of what they expected under the scholarship arrangement.

“We are Medical and Engineering students from Nigeria sent to study in Russia by the Nigerian government under the bilateral education agreement with Russia. But the Nigerian govt left us stranded since we got here. We’re now forced to do menial jobs to survive.”

They also express frustration over what they describe as repeated attempts to reach relevant authorities without meaningful or lasting intervention, leaving them stranded and uncertain about their future in Russia.
