Trump Already Knows ISWAP, Boko Haram, And Fulani Militants Are Killing Christians In Nigeria To Establish An Islamic Caliphate — US Bureau of Counterterrorism

The US Bureau of Counterterrorism has dismissed claims that land disputes are behind the escalating attacks on Christian communities across Nigeria, noting that President Donald Trump is aware jihadist groups are intensifying efforts to carve out an Islamic caliphate in the West African nation.

In its latest assessment on X, the Bureau identified two dominant extremist organisations—ISWAP, Fulani Terrorist and Boko Haram as leading perpetrators of mass killings, abductions, and targeted assaults against Christian populations.

The report follows after these groups have already expanded their operations across the Northeast, North-Central, and border communities, exploiting weak security structures and deepening instability.

According to the counterterrorism agency, these jihadist factions are not acting alone. The report also highlights the involvement of armed Fulani militants, who have launched repeated deadly raids on rural villages, displacing thousands and worsening the humanitarian crisis.

The Bureau warned that the pattern of attacks ranging from church burnings to the systematic annihilation of farming communities reflects a coordinated effort aimed at territorial dominance and religious cleansing.
