‘All 469 Lawmakers Were Elected Through Electronically Transmitted Results In 2023, Why Is It Impossible Now?’ Senator Umeh Knocks APC Government Over Democracy Sabotage (VIDEO)
Senator Victor Umeh has criticised the move by the ruling All Progressives Congress APC lawmakers in the National Assembly to discard electronic transmission of election results, questioning why a process that worked seamlessly in 2023 is now being presented as unachievable.
Speaking in an interview, The senator representing Anambra Central district reminded Nigerians that all 469 members of the National Assembly comprising both the Senate and House of Representatives were elected through a system that relied on electronically transmitted polling-unit results.
Umeh criticised the All Progressives Congress government for what he described as a deliberate attempt to undermine electoral transparency by pushing for manual transmission, saying such a move would sabotage democratic progress in Nigeria.

‘’In the 2023 general elections, all the results were uploaded successfully so if we achieved it in 2023, why should somebody in 2026 say that it is no longer possible?’’
According to him, reversing the technology-backed process that enhanced the credibility of the 2023 elections shows a clear intention to create room for manipulation in future polls.
