Kebbi Attack: Confront This Evil Before It Consumes Us, NLC Tells FG
The Nigerian Labour Congress (NLC) has called on the Federal Government to address the degrading security situation in the country to prevent more people from falling victim to insurgency attacks.
The call followed the terrorists’ invasion in Kebbi State, where 25 female students of the Government Girls Comprehensive Secondary School were kidnapped at around 4 a.m., on Monday, and the vice principal of a secondary school was killed.

Reacting to the incident, a statement signed by the President of the NLC, Joe Ajaero, on Wednesday, warned of further escalation of insecurity across the country if the Federal Government does not bring the situation under control.
Ajaero also mourned with the families of the Kebbi victims.

“We are deeply saddened by the news of the abduction of college students by bandits in Kebbi State.
“While we share in the pain and trauma of the victims, parents, and Governor of the state, Dr Nasir Idris, we call on the Federal Government to do more in securing the land and land mass of the nation and its citizens.
“Bogus budgets do not seem to be working. What is wrong? We should be sufficiently concerned by the shrinking and psychological spaces in the polity, and we demand the federal government, the sole custodian of our armed forces…holder of our economic resources, reflect more deeply.”
