CAF Awards: Osimhen Faces Stiff Salah, Hakimi Battle

Winners of the 2025 CAF Awards will be revealed on Wednesday night in Rabat, Morocco.

The winner of the 2023 CAF Men’s Player of the Year Award, Victor Osimhen, returns to the podium, facing competition from Egypt and Liverpool forward Mohamed Salah, and Morocco and PSG defender Achraf Hakimi.

Super Falcons captain, Rasheedat Ajibade, is also in the running for the Women’s Player of the Year Award, while goalkeeper Chiamaka Nnadozie is shortlisted for what could become her third consecutive honour.

The CAF Awards will recognise and celebrate outstanding African football performers for the period from January 6 to October 15, 2025.

The awards honour both individual and collective achievements, highlighting talent, excellence and commitment across the continent.

Categories include the best male and female players, coaches, clubs, national teams, and emerging young talents.

When and where?

The CAF Awards ceremony will take place on Wednesday, 19 November 2025, from 19:00 local time (18:00 GMT) at the Mohammed VI Polytechnic University (UM6P) in Rabat, Morocco.

Presenters and Artists

Beninese artist Angélique Kidjo and Moroccan comedian Oualass will host this year’s ceremony.

Musical performances will feature Moroccan singer Douaa Lahyaoui, Congolese star Awilo Longomba and Ghanaian musician Fuse ODG.
