NFF Issues Heartfelt Apology After Super Eagles’ World Cup Setback
The Nigeria Football Federation, NFF, has apologised for the Super Eagles failure to qualify for the 2026 FIFA World Cup.
The Super Eagles hopes of qualifying for the mundial was dashed on Sunday following a 4-3 penalty shootout defeat to the Democratic Republic of Congo.
NFF in a statement on Monday, apologised to Bola Ahmed Tinubu and passionate soccer loving fans in the country for the disappointing defeat.

They promised to reposition the national teams for future success.
The NFF further stated that all attention will now be on the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations coming up in Morocco in December.
It claimed the competition presents an opportunity for healing, for renewal, and for demonstrating the resilience that has always defined Nigerian football.
