Your Uncultured, Reckless Behaviour May Lead to Military Coup – Okey Bakassi Warns Nigerian Politicians
Nollywood actor and comedian Okey Bakassi has cautioned that the reckless behavior of the current political officeholders could trigger a military coup.
He expressed concern that many politicians now act like “gods” and are intolerant of criticism.
Bakassi lamented that despite being a democracy, civilians are being intimidated and arrested for speaking out against the government.
He shared his views while reacting to Bola Tinubu’s declaration of a state of emergency in Rivers State during a recent conversation with fellow actor Ime Bishop Umoh.

Bakassi said, “Politicians are now behaving like they are gods. All of them are now behaving like they are untouchable. If you speak [against them], they will arrest you. This is how they will continue in this recklessness until the military decides take over the government.
“That time, they will ask civilians to protest and defend democracy. But now, they don’t want civilians anything about democracy.”
