“Why did I apologize before I left the office?” – Buhari

Before he leaves office in 2023, President Muhammadu Buhari has explained why he apologized to Nigerians.

According to the Daily Post, on May 29, 2023, outgoing President Buhari turned over power to President Bola Tinubu, a replacement from his party, the All Progressives Congress, or APC.

Buhari stated that he didn’t intend to purposefully cause someone suffering, but that a choice had to be taken and that ultimately, he had to apologize.

The former president gave a speech on Tuesday at an Abuja book launch.

Two books featuring the former president were released today. The first was a collection of five books titled “Muhammadu Buhari: The Nigerian Legacy,” and it was written by Femi Adesina. It was titled “Working with Buhari: Reflections of a Special Adviser on Media and Publicity (2015–2023).”
