VIDEO: How Unknown Gunmen Kidnapped Schoolchildren in Ekiti

Reports emerged on Monday of an undisclosed number of schoolchildren allegedly abducted by unidentified gunmen in Emure Local Government of Ekiti State. Although details remain obscure, the abducted children were reportedly students from an undisclosed school.

They were purportedly traveling in their school bus near the Eporo-Ekiti boundary when the incident occurred. The exact count of students in the kidnappers’ custody remains unknown, and authorities are yet to confirm the incident.

This incident occurred following the tragic killings of two traditional rulers in the state: the Onimojo of Imojo Ekiti, Oba Olatunde Samuel Olusola, and the Elesun of Esun Ekiti, Oba David Babatunde Ogunsola, who were ambushed by armed assailants while returning from a meeting. Fortunately, the Alara of Ara-Ekiti, Oba Adebayo Fatoba, managed to evade the attack.
