According to Imo State Governor Hope Uzodimma, it makes financial sense to relocate the Federal Airports Authority of Nigeria (FAAN) and certain Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) divisions to Lagos in order to improve operational efficiency.

In an interview with Sunday Politics on Channels Television, Uzodimma made this claim.

“I listened to Ali Ndume, the Northern Senators’ Forum, and the Emir of Kano,” he declared. The overwhelming majority of opinions is evident.

The general consensus is that merit ought to be the primary factor considered when making decisions in the nation.

The governor said, “I have not seen anything ill in it if the operation’s department is sent to Lagos to be able to manage aviation operations effectively. The main aviation hub is in Lagos.”

Uzodimma added that the CBN oversees all of the nation’s commercial banks, making it the bankers’ bank. He argued that the standard should be merit and that the company’s motto should be efficiency.

The governor emphasized, “Therefore, it makes economic sense to move the operations department of FAAN to Lagos to supervise airlines.”

The All Progressives Congress (APC) chairman of the Progressives Governors’ Forum charged that opponents of President Bola Tinubu were funding a “campaign of calumny” against him due to his administration’s policies.

Tinubu does not intend to move the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) from Lagos to Abuja, according to Uzodimma.
