US Should Not Only Target Boko Haram; They Should Also Go After Fulani Militias Who Kill Christians Without Any Deterrence From Government —American Missionary (VIDEO)
An American missionary, Alex Barbir, has called on the United States government to broaden its counter-terrorism efforts in Nigeria, insisting that the focus should extend beyond Boko Haram to include Fulani militias responsible for widespread killings of Christians across the country.
Barbir, who has spent years working in rural communities affected by violence, described the attacks as systematic and devastating.
‘’The Fulani terrorists are massacring Christians and also some Muslims across Nigeria. They’re taking over land from Christians. The Nigerian government is doing nothing to stop it. It’s not ISIS and Boko Haram that we need to target. It’s the Fulani terrorists. The militias from the Fulani people.

‘’In Taraba, it’s not primarily Boko Haram. In Kaduna, it’s not Boko Haram. It’s Fulani that are going and killing and massacring and burning and taking over and kidnapping.’’
According to him, many victims mostly farmers, women, and children have been killed or displaced in what he termed “unprovoked assaults carried out without any deterrence from government authorities.”
Speaking during an interview, the missionary said it was no longer sufficient for the international community to recognise only Boko Haram as a major threat in Nigeria, stressing that other violent groups have grown in strength and brutality.
Barbir accused the Nigerian government of failing to take decisive action against the perpetrators, arguing that the lack of arrests, prosecutions, or preventive measures has emboldened the attackers.
‘’The government is not doing it. They’re literally trying to cover it up. They’re paying millions to lobby that Nigeria has religious freedom. There’s no issues. There’s no Christian genocide. Everybody’s saying no Christian genocide. Why are we hiding the truth? And who is going to be the one to tell the truth and to fight for the people and the lives of Nigerians? Who? If it’s just me, okay, I’ll do it. But we need more people telling the truth.’’
