To become governor, I overcame 38 legal challenges — Oborevwori
Delta State Governor Sheriff Oborevwori has said that God has appointed him to lead the state, citing his survival of 38 court cases along the way.
At a thank-you service held yesterday at the Government House Chapel in Asaba, Governor Oborevwori expressed his gratitude for winning the case at the Supreme Court.
From the pre-election to the post-election, the governor claimed to have won every case that went to the Supreme Court.
The immediate past governor, Senator Ifeanyi Okowa, and his wife, Dame Edith, were present at the thanksgiving along with Oborevwori’s wife, Deaconess Tobore; his deputy, Sir Monday Onyeme, and his wife, Catherine.
No other governor in the nation, according to Oborevwori, has ever dealt with this many court cases.
He thanked God and Deltans for his Supreme Court triumph and said that he and Sir Monday, his deputy, will lead as servants.
“I came to this altar before I went to Abuja for this last judgment,” stated Oborevwori. And I replied, “God is not a man to lie.”
“I’ve made a commitment to God that I will come here to praise Him every time He grants me victory. I’ve carried it out multiple times. And I promised to come back the same day the victory was achieved to give thanks to God.
For I have been redeemed by the Lord.
