Tinubu Trying To Cover Massacre Of Christians With ₦12BN Unbudgeted Taxpayer Funds — Nigerian Lawyer Tells US Congress (VIDEO)

A Nigerian lawyer Franc Utoo has told the United State Congress that Bola Tinubu’s payment of over 12 billion naira (9 million dollars) to a US-based lobbying firm is part of the former Lagos State Governor antics to cover Christian massacre in Nigeria.

Nigeria is one of the countries with the highest number of Christians killed for their faith. According to Open Doors’ 2026 World Watch List, 3,490 Christians were killed in Nigeria during the reporting period, accounting for most of the 4,849 Christians killed worldwide for their faith.

This represents an increase from 3,100 killed in the previous year.

Other reports suggest that between 2010 and October 2025, at least 125,000 Christians were killed in Nigeria, with 19,100 churches burned and 1,100 Christian communities seized by jihadist forces.

However, in the midst of the struggles, reports on Tuesday emerged that the Bola Tinubu government has approved a multi-million lobbying contract with a Republican-linked firm in Washington as it seeks to ease mounting pressure from the United States’ government under President Donald Trump over insecurity in the West African country.

According to the report, the lobbying deal is aimed at persuading the Trump administration and key U.S. lawmakers that Nigeria is taking concrete steps to address worsening insecurity, particularly the killings of Christians in the country’s northern region.

The report said the engagement was facilitated by Nigeria’s National Security Adviser, Nuhu Ribadu, through a Kaduna-based law firm, Aster Legal, which acted as an intermediary in hiring the U.S. lobbying firm, DCI Group.
