Tinubu’s Health Minister Caught Lying About Undisrupted Health Sector in Two Years On National TV

Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s Coordinating Minister of Health and Social Welfare, Muhammad Ali Pate, has come under fire for claiming that the health sector has been “undisrupted” under Bola Tinubu’s administration for the past two years.

Pate made the statement while speaking in a televised interview on Sunday, attributing it to the government’s strategic planning and investments in the sector.

“I have to say that in the last two and a half years, we experienced relative harmony,” Pate said.

“We have not had major disruptions in services, except for the period where resident doctors — not the medical association, not the Medical and Dental Consultants — only the trainee physicians, took on issues that were legacy issues for a very long time.”

Nigeria’s health sector has faced significant disruptions over the last two years, with several challenges hindering optimal performance such as poor infrastructure, industrial action, inadequate funding, brain drain with over 16,000 doctors reported to have left nigeria recently, causing a doctor-to-population ratio of 3.9 per 10,000 people.

Despite this, Pate claimed Tinubu’s administration has ensured industrial harmony with the heath workers and this has not gone down well with Nigerians, with a cross section of citizens taking to the comment section to knock the minister for the lies.
