Three Dead, Several Others Injured As NAF Bombs Borno Civilians In Another Accidental Strike

A Nigerian Air Force (NAF) jet mistakenly bombed civilians in Mararaba, Borno, killing fishermen and commercial drivers.

The incident occurred on Sunday, December 14, 2025, between 6 a.m. and 4 p.m. at a bustling junction where locals gathered to transport fish and goods.

Reports indicate at least three civilians were killed, and multiple vehicles were destroyed. The wounded were taken to the General Hospital in Mungono for treatment.

This incident happened just hours after the NAF vowed to protect civilians in its operations.

The NAF has yet to release an official statement regarding the civilian casualties.

The Nigerian Air Force (NAF) has carried out numerous accidental airstrikes in Nigeria, resulting in significant civilian casualties.

Since 2017, over 300 people have been killed in such incidents, with many more injured.

Some notable incidents include Rann Village Bombing in 2017 where over 100 civilians were killed when a NAF jet bombed a refugee camp.

Similarly, in 2023, 39 civilians were killed, and 6 others injured, in an airstrike that targeted cattle herders in Nasarawa.
