Peter Langsan, the Public Education Officer of the Federal Road Safety Corps in the state, verified the casualty figures, stating that both deceased and injured victims had been transported to the hospital for treatment.
Langsan said, “Our officers and men have just concluded the rescue operation here. It was an articulated vehicle carrying cows and human beings that fell off the bridge. Three persons died and three others were also injured. They have been taken to the hospital.”
Langsan, who blamed the accident on excessive speed, cautioned drivers against transporting passengers in vehicles intended for cargo transportation.
