Armed terrorists struck the quiet border community of Ora-Igbomina in Ifedayo Local Government Area on Monday evening, December 15, 2025, abducting a retired Nigeria Customs Service officer, Prince Emmanuel Owolabi, and killing one resident during their escape.

The attack occurred around 7 p.m., when the terrorists stormed the town, firing sporadically into the air to instill fear.

They headed directly to Owolabi’s residence on Akisa Road, forcing their way in and dragging him away at gunpoint.

Residents fled in panic as the assailants moved through the area.

As the terrorists fled toward farmlands near the Osun-Kwara border, they encountered a farmer and allegedly shot him dead.

Some reports identify the victim as a community leader representing non-indigenes, while others describe him as a farmer working late; the killing reportedly occurred just across the boundary in Kwara State.

High Chief Sunday Fadipe, the Inurin of Ora-Igbomina, confirmed the incident and highlighted the town’s vulnerability due to its shared borders with Ekiti and Kwara states.

He appealed for stronger government security presence.

Osun State Police spokesperson DSP Abiodun Ojelabi confirmed the abduction and said tactical teams have been deployed to comb the bushes for the victim’s rescue and the perpetrators’ arrest.
