Unpaid Ground Rent: PDP Moves Caucus Meeting To Bauchi Govt Lodge

A caucus meeting of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) today held at the Bauchi State Government Lodge in Abuja, the Federal Capital Territory.
The meeting, which was earlier scheduled for 7 pm, was rescheduled following the sealing of the party’s national secretariat by the Federal Capital Territory Administration.
The FCTA sealed Wadata Plaza, the building housing the National Secretariat of the PDP in Abuja, on Monday over unpaid ground and tenancy rent.

The PDP caucus comprises serving governors, National Assembly members, Board of Trustees members, former presidents, and former vice presidents.
The closure of Wadata Plaza by the FCTA made it impossible for members of the BOT to hold their meeting.
The meeting of the PDP BOT was supposed to precede the ongoing caucus meeting.

Although the meeting is happening behind closed doors, sources within the party said the issues concerning the planned National Executive Committee (NEC) meeting which was scheduled for Tuesday, May 27, were top on the agenda.
The source also stated that it was not unlikely that the latest development regarding the sealing of the PDP national secretariat would come up during the meeting.
