Redline project: Lagos closes Ogunmokun Road and another for six weeks in Mushin
The Lagos State Government has finalized plans to close and reroute traffic along Kayode and Ogunmokun Streets in the state’s Mushin neighborhood for a period of six weeks.
This is a component of the Mushin Flyover Bridge that is currently being built for the Red Line Lagos Mass Rail Transit Project.
Oluwaseun Osiyemi, the Commissioner of Transportation, said as much on Friday.
According to Osiyemi, the diversion will start on Friday, January 19, and run until February 29, 2024.
Traffic alert
It was learned that the following regions will be impacted by the diversion, and alternate routes will be offered: drivers traveling on Kayode Street in the direction of Mushin will be sent to Ikorodu Road in the direction of Jibowu, then on to Moshalashi (Empire) to link with Agege Motor Road and reach their intended destinations.
As an alternative, drivers can link Matanmi Street to Giwa Street and then Ayonuga Street to reach their destinations from Majolate Street (Kayode junction).
Olateju Street drivers will be rerouted to Coker Street in order to connect with Agege Motor Road and resume their travels.
Adedoja Street should be connected by drivers on Ijaye, Ogunsanya, and Awoyejo Streets in order to link Alhaji Lasisi with their intended destinations.
Drivers are advised to be aware that: “Ago-Owu, Adeniyi Streets, and Lawanson Crescent” will not be allowed to access Kayode Street. Osiyemi
