Putin Warns NATO Over Risk of Third World War
According to Reuters, Russian President Vladimir Putin has warned that a direct confrontation between Russia and NATO would bring the world perilously close to the brink of World War Three.
Putin’s remarks coincide with his declaration of a resounding victory in Russia’s presidential election, securing 87.8% of the votes.
Critics from countries including the US, Germany, and the UK have criticized the election, citing concerns about the incarceration of political dissidents and instances of censorship, casting doubt on its fairness and freedom.
Putin said during his post-election briefing, “It is clear to everyone that this will be one step away from a full-scale World War Three. I think hardly anyone is interested in this.”

In response to queries regarding Macron’s remarks and the escalating tensions between Russia and NATO, Putin remarked, “In the contemporary world, anything is conceivable.”
Furthermore, Putin highlighted that NATO personnel were already present in Ukraine.
Previously, Putin declared Russia’s technical preparedness for nuclear warfare, cautioning that the deployment of US troops to Ukraine would constitute a substantial escalation of the conflict.
French President Macron rebuked Putin, advising against making threats given his nation’s possession of nuclear arms.
Macron revealed that he hadn’t engaged in dialogue with Putin for several months, asserting that discussions were only held when deemed essential.
In the United States, officials responded to Putin’s remarks by stating that they perceive no indications of Russia intending to utilize nuclear weapons against Ukraine.
