Ondo State Gov Aiyedatiwa Dissolves Cabinet

Governor Lucky Aiyedatiwa of Ondo State has announced the immediate dissolution of the State Executive Council.

The decision, communicated through a statement from his Chief Press Secretary, Ebenezer Adeniyan, requires members of the cabinet to promptly hand over their responsibilities to the permanent secretaries or the most senior administrative officers in their respective offices.

“Also, all Senior Special Assistants and Special Assistants are relieved of their duties, with immediate effect.  All the affected officials are directed to hand over all government property in their possession. The governor thanks the affected officials for their services and contributions to the development of the State,” a copy of the statement read.

The disintegration is occurring just three weeks into Mr. Aiyedatiwa’s assumption of power following the demise of his predecessor, the late Governor Rotimi Akeredolu. Mr. Akeredolu, who had been contending with an undisclosed health condition, succumbed to prostate cancer on December 27.
