‘’Nigeria May Be Next If Massive Corruption Doesn’t Stop’’ Nigerians React To Benin Republic Coup
Nigerians are reacting to the news of the military coup in Benin Republic, with concerns about regional stability and security implications.
The coup, led by Lieutenant Colonel Pascal Tigri, has resulted in the ouster of President Patrice Talon, who was due to step down in April 2026.
The soldiers calling themselves the “Military Committee for Refoundation” (CMR), said on state television that they had met and decided that “Mr Patrice Talon is removed from office as president of the republic”.
Meanwhile reacting under a video posted on X by Sahara Reporters, a host of Nigerians described the coup is a wakeup call for Nigeria under what they tagged a bad leadership.

The reaction are documented below:
@Eze_Ndi_Eze, African politicians set this wild fire that’s consuming democracy in Africa by stealing and oppressing the citizens with impunity.
