NAFDAC Shuts Down Sokoto Bakery for Repackaging, Inadequate Sanitation

The National Agency for Food and Drug Administration and Control (NAFDAC) has taken action against a bakery in Sokoto for repackaging products and maintaining poor sanitation standards.

Garba Adamu, the NAFDAC coordinator in Sokoto, announced on Tuesday that the unregistered bakery was closed with the assistance of security personnel.

Adamu stated that the bakery owner has been arrested and appropriately penalized, with the materials used also confiscated.

He emphasized that the owner has been educated on the importance of registering products according to specified guidelines.

NAFDAC, in alignment with the federal government’s policy of promoting entrepreneurship in Nigerian communities, engages producers in business-friendly and customer-oriented activities.
