BREAKING: Mexican Senate Approves Entry of US Special Forces to Take on Drug Cartels (VIDEO)

In a move to combat the escalating influence of drug cartels, the Mexican Senate has authorized the deployment of U.S. Special Forces to collaborate with Mexican military units.
The decision aims to enhance joint efforts in dismantling organized crime networks that have long plagued the nation.
The approval permits a contingent of 11 U.S. Army Green Berets from the 7th Special Forces Group to enter Mexico.

Their mission, scheduled from today, February 17 through the end of March, focuses on training Mexico’s Naval Infantry Marines in advanced combat and counter-narcotics operations.
The training will take place at the Luis Carpizo Training Facility in Campeche, a strategic location on the Gulf Coast.
This collaboration was initiated at the behest of Mexican President Claudia Sheinbaum and received unanimous support from a Senate commission.
The joint effort underscores a significant shift in Mexico’s approach to international cooperation in addressing internal security challenges. Senator Lilly Téllez of the National Action Party (PAN) emphasized the importance of such alliances, stating, “There can be cooperation between both military forces, those of the United States and those of Mexico.”

The deployment comes amid heightened tensions and a renewed commitment from both nations to curb the operations of transnational criminal organizations. The U.S. government, under President Donald Trump, has intensified its stance against Mexican drug cartels, designating them as foreign terrorist organizations. This designation aims to allocate additional resources and legal avenues to combat the cartels’ influence.
While the presence of U.S. military personnel on Mexican soil is a rare occurrence, both governments have framed this initiative as a cooperative training exercise rather than direct military intervention. The Green Berets, known for their expertise in unconventional warfare, will provide Mexican forces with advanced skills necessary to disrupt the cartels’ operations effectively.
