Late Ondo Gov. Akeredolu’s Wife Declares For Obidient Movement, Says ‘Peter Obi Or Nothing’ Ahea2027 Elections

Betty Anyanwu-Akeredolu, former First Lady of Ondo State, has reiterated her full support for Peter Obi’s 2027 presidential bid.

The declaration came at the inauguration of the Obidients Movement in Owerri Municipal Local Government Area. Dr. Anyanwu-Akeredolu, widely known as Ada Owere 1, affirmed that for the 2027 presidential election, it is “Peter Obi or nothing.”

Addressing supporters, she said, “I proudly declare that I am Obidient. I stand firmly on Obi or Nothing — not as a slogan, but as an affirmation of values.” She described the Obidients Movement as a force challenging Nigeria’s entrenched political system, pointing to issues such as poor infrastructure, food insecurity, corruption, abuse of office, and insecurity.

Dr. Anyanwu-Akeredolu praised Obi’s leadership approach, which she said is rooted in the “3 Cs: Character, Competence, and Capacity.” She added, “His insistence that a single tenure is enough to reset Nigeria is courageous and inspiring. It shows that purposeful leadership can deliver meaningful change within four years.”

The former First Lady, who previously contested for the Imo East senatorial seat under the All-Progressives Congress (APC), said her renewed bid is driven by the need for effective leadership in Owerri Zone. “Owerri Zone deserves leadership that delivers tangible results,” she said.

In her speech, Dr. Anyanwu-Akeredolu highlighted her background as a retired public servant, development advocate, entrepreneur, and politician. She stressed her over four decades of experience in advocacy, enterprise, philanthropy, and policy, promising a solutions-driven approach to the Senate.

She concluded with a call for collective action, stating, “Together, let us build a new Owerri Zone. Together, let us build a new Imo. Together, let us build a new Nigeria.”
