A new wave of demonstrations erupted in Suleja, the bustling economic hub of Niger State, situated just a few kilometers from the Federal Capital Territory, Abuja.

On Wednesday, enraged Nigerians took to the streets, as captured in photographs obtained by SaharaReporters, demanding that the government, led by Bola Tinubu, address the hardships and unmanageable inflation they are enduring.

“There is protest ongoing at the Suleja local government area of Niger State. They are calling on Tinubu to end the hardship the masses are suffering on the daily basis in the country,” a witness said.

It was revealed on Monday that a multitude of individuals, comprising men, women, and youths in Minna, the capital of Niger State, convened to stage a demonstration against the escalating inflation gripping the nation.

They expressed discontent over the surge in gas and fuel prices, blocking main thoroughfares to voice their frustration about the government’s apparent inaction regarding the soaring costs of essential commodities.

Videos depicted the protesters chanting protest songs, while law enforcement officers, including policemen, observed the unfolding events.

Nevertheless, Yakubu Garba, the Deputy Governor of Niger State, acknowledged the hardships endured by families across the country. He assured the protesters that the government was actively striving to alleviate the financial strain and mitigate the economic repercussions stemming from the removal of petrol subsidies.
