JUST IN: 79-Year-Old Liberia’s New President Fails to End Inauguration Speech
Liberia’s recently inaugurated President, Joseph Boakai, faced a challenge during his inauguration speech in the capital, Monrovia, as he struggled to reach its conclusion.
Approximately 30 minutes into his address, it became evident that he was experiencing difficulty speaking.
The situation escalated when President Boakai appeared on the verge of passing out, requiring assistance from his aides and the executive protection service.

He was subsequently escorted from the ceremony at the Capitol Building, the legislative seat, leading to the premature adjournment of the event.
As the 79-year-old assumed office as Liberia’s oldest president, there had been earlier speculations regarding his health.
