Insecurity: New Police Commissioners Deployed to FCT, Benue, Ekiti, Others
Amid escalating insecurity nationwide, the Police Service Commission (PSC) has sanctioned the appointment and deployment of new Commissioners of Police (CPs) to the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Ekiti, Benue, and two additional states.
Ikechukwu Ani, the Commission’s Head of Press and Public Relations, revealed this information in a statement released on Wednesday.
As per the statement, CP Beneth Igwe assumes the role of Commissioner of Police for the FCT, having previously served as DCP Operations in the FCT Command.
The newly appointed CPs include Peter Ukachi Opara for Osun State, Olughemiga Emmanuel Adesina for Benue State, Akinwale Kunle Adeniran for Ekiti State, and Mohammed Umar Abba for Adamawa State.

Additional appointees are Abaniwonda Surajudeen Olufemi for Delta State, Ademola Waheed Ayilara for Akwa Ibom State, David Iloyanomon for Taraba State, Abayomi Oladipo Peter for Ondo State, and Hassan Abdu Yabnet for Plateau State.
Dr. Solomon Arase, the Chairman of PSC, cautioned the newly appointed CPs that the Commission expects them to provide effective and efficient leadership without excuses for failure.
