Hold Tinubu Responsible For Insecurity In Nigeria, He Priorities Politics In Security Appointments- Atiku’s Aide
As Nigerians continue to rue and cry to international communities for help to eradicate the insecurity bedeviling the country, it is the belief of Paul Ibe, a media aide to former Vice President Atiku Abubakar, that Bola Tinubu is to be blamed for the state of the menace in Nigeria.
Ibe in a post on X attributed the insecurity in the country to Tinubu’s decision to prioritise politics in the appointment in some strategic positions especially, those saddled with the responsibility of securing Nigeria.
In the post, Ibe wondered why Tinubu would appoint inexperienced former state governors as the Minister of Defence and Minister of State for Defence when they have no military knowledge.

However, Ibe wrote: “It is now crystal clear that the state of insecurity in Nigeria is what it is because President Tinubu prioritised politics in the appointment of those saddled with the jobs of security.
“How does he explain that in a season of heightened insecurity, both the Minister of Defence and Minister of State for Defence are not former military personnel with experience in the operational and administrative aspects of military affairs?

“They are both former governors of the states of Zamfara and Jigawa. One is an accountant while the other is a teacher, who, as governor, achieved little in stemming the terrorism and banditry that defined his era. This is yet another confirmation of the trial-and-error model of the Tinubu-led administration.”

Ibe’s comment comes amid the resignation of Mohammed Badaru as Minister of Defence and Tinubu’s nomination of former Chief of Defence Staff, Christopher Musa, as a possible replacement.
