Edo State Labour Party Coalition of Support Groups Congratulates Akpata, Commends Party for Successful Primaries

The Labour Party’s gubernatorial candidate in Edo state, Mr. Olumide Osaigbovo Akpata, has garnered widespread congratulations following his triumph as the party’s candidate for the upcoming gubernatorial election scheduled for September.

The most recent accolade comes from the Coalition of Labour Party Support Groups in Edo, operating under the umbrella of Repositioned Support Groups (RSG).

In an official statement released in Benin City, and signed by the chairman of the group, Dr Roseline Efosa Ekhaise, the support groups emphasized the significance of Mr. Olumide Akpata’s victory, hailing it as a pivotal moment in the state’s political landscape. They express confidence in his leadership, anticipating positive transformations under his governance.

Comprising over thirty support groups, the Repositioned Support Groups wholeheartedly pledge their unwavering support for Akpata’s vision to redefine governance in the state, eagerly awaiting the commencement of campaign activities.

The RSG also urged the party’s candidate to include support group leadership in strategic planning, and execution of his campaign noting that the group is well positioned to complement the efforts of both the candidate and party to ensure that LP wins the election come September

In a separate press release, the Amalgamation of LP Support Groups extends hearty congratulations to the party’s leadership, specifically acknowledging the commendable efforts of the National and State Working Committees in orchestrating a successful primary on February 22nd.

The group commends the Labour Party for upholding transparency and integrity throughout the electoral process.

The statement reads, “We appreciate the party’s commitment to ensuring a democratic and inclusive primary, thereby setting a commendable standard for political processes that prioritize the voices of the people.

As Edo state gears up for the governorship election in September, the Labour Party aims to challenge the incumbent party’s dominance in the state and win the governorship.
