Headline Chairmanship The governor of Delta State, His Excellency, Rt. Hon. Sheriff Oborevwori, received congratulations from Comr. L. Monoyo Edon, a candidate for the next Warri South Local Government Area election, on his victory at the Supreme Court on Friday, January 19, 2024.
The All Progressives Congress, or APC, and its candidate, Senator Ovie Omo-Agege, filed an appeal to contest the results of the state’s March 18, 2023, governorship election, which returned Rt. Hon. Sheriff Oborevwori as governor after winning landslide victories in 21 of the 25 Local Government Areas. However, a five-member panel of the highest court dismissed the appeal unanimously.
The Chairmanship Hopeful, a strong supporter of the M.O.R.E Agenda in Warri South LGA, stated in an interview with Vanguard Newspaper just after the verdict that the governor’s popularity with Deltans did not come as a surprise.
