C&S Church Begs Tinubu to Reduce Hardships, Support SMEs
Prophet Solomon Alao, the Supreme Head of the Cherubim and Seraphim Unification Church Worldwide, has called on Bola Tinubu’s government to reduce business operating costs in order to foster the growth of small and medium-sized enterprises.
Lamenting the departure of companies from Nigeria, Mr. Alao emphasized that lowering the cost of doing business and introducing incentives would stimulate industrial development and create opportunities for youth employment.
Speaking on the state of the nation during a news conference in Lagos, held in anticipation of the church’s upcoming annual general conference in Ondo, the cleric highlighted the importance of the church as a crucial element of society that deserves attention from the government.
He stressed that the current high cost of doing business in Nigeria is imposing hardships on the populace.
Prophet Solomon Alao pointed out that small and medium-sized enterprises are significant contributors to employment, and therefore, measures aimed at facilitating their growth would positively impact the nation’s employment landscape.
The forthcoming conference, which will attract followers from around the world, is set to assess the church’s progress and explore ways to move forward.
The C&S leader stated, “With the rate of petroleum products and other aids to trades such as transportation, high cost of import duty on raw materials, multiple taxation and dearth of electricity by October this year, the remaining struggling SMEs might close shop.

“Monopolising the business space by bigger firms should be tackled by the federal government to aid smaller ones to survive in the society.
“It is absurd for banks to trespass from their banking job to selling airline tickets and recharge cards. The smaller outfits that are into such businesses will be edged out in time, thereby throwing more people into the labour market.”
Mr Alao appealed to the government to “take more realisable steps at ensuring that the security of life and property is given priority.”
