JUST IN: Confusion as Police Teargas 16 Sacked Plateau PDP Lawmakers

Armed police officers, on Tuesday, deployed tear gas against the 16 members of the Peoples Democratic Party in the Plateau State House of Assembly, who had been ousted by the Court of Appeal.

The legislators, accompanied by their supporters, had gathered at the Rayfield Old Government House in Jos on Tuesday morning, intending to resume plenary.

However, security forces, including the police, assumed control of the Government House premises, barring the dismissed lawmakers from entering the House of Assembly chambers.

Despite the resistance, the lawmakers remained steadfast in their decision not to leave the premises.
