BREAKING: MKO Abiola Won June 12 Election – IBB Reveals

Former military head of state, General Ibrahim Badamasi Babangida, has disclosed that the late Chief Moshood Abiola emerged victorious in the June 12, 1993, presidential election.

This revelation is detailed in his autobiography, “A Journey in Service,” which was unveiled in Abuja on Thursday.

According to the book reviewer, former Vice President Prof. Yemi Osibanjo, Babangida stated that MKO Abiola, who ran for president under the Social Democratic Party (SDP), won both the majority of votes and the required geographical spread to become president.

He described the June 12 election annulment as the most challenging aspect of his life.

“There was no doubt in my mind; MKO Abiola won the election. He satisfied all the requirements,” he said.

However, he expressed his happiness that President Muhammadu Buhari recognized Abiola’s victory in the election and honored him with the highest national title, Grand Commander of the Federal Republic (GCFR), which is reserved for presidents.
