You’re a Mass Murderer Too and Must Pay for Your Crimes Against Humanity — Babatunde Slams Onoja Over Remarks on Rehabilitation of Terrorists
A former governorship aspirant, Gbadamosi Babatunde, has criticised the Director of Defence Media Operations, Maj. Gen. Micheal Onoja, over his comments defending the Tinubu’s Government’s rehabilitation programme for Boko Haram terrorists.
Babatunde’s reaction followed an interview by Onoja, in which the senior military officer justified the government’s reintegration policy under what is known as the “Borno model.”
Onoja had stated that, under the law, Boko Haram fighters remain Nigerians despite their crimes and should be rehabilitated where possible.

“In the books of law, at the end of the day, Boko Haram fighters are still considered as Nigerians,” Onoja said in the interview circulating on social media.
“They may have erred and definitely account for whatever they have done.
“Are we saying that on the fact of the account that they are Nigerians, if we have the opportunity to rehabilitate them, we should not?,” Onoja queried.
Reacting via his handle on X, Babatunde condemned Onoja’s remarks in strong terms.
“Who is this Monkey? Rehabilitate Mass murderer? Rehabilitate terrorists that murdered a whole Brigadier-General of the @HQNigerianArmy?
‘I would not be surprised if this turns out to be the traitor that sold out the position of Brigadier-General Musa Uba, after he first gallantly escaped from their abduction. There are too many traitors in the Nigerian army.

‘That makes you a mass murderer too, and you must pay for your crimes against humanity. No escape for you,’” he wrote.
Babatunde’s comments have since sparked debate online, with users expressing concerns over the demerits of rehabilitating terrorists and integrating them back into the society.
