‘ADC Will Not Leave Anyone Willing To Challenge APC Govt Out Of Coalition,’ Rhodes-Vivour Lauds Obi’s Kano Visit

A stalwart of the African Democratic Congress (ADC) Gbadebo Rhodes-Vivour (GRV) says the  party will work with any group willing to challenge the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC), hailing Peter Obi’s recent visit to Kano State as a step toward opposition unity.

Former presidential candidate, Peter Obi, on Sunday reiterated his vision to restore Kano’s economic strength following a high-profile visit to the residence of Rabiu Kwankwaso in Kano State.

The meeting, held at Kwankwaso’s Miller Road residence, drew notable political figures, including Seyi Makinde and Seriake Dickson, alongside activist Naajatu Mohammed and other prominent personalities.

The gathering has intensified speculation about a possible political realignment ahead of the 2027 elections, particularly amid suggestions that Kwankwaso may consider a move from the New Nigeria People’s Party to the African Democratic Congress (ADC), a platform Obi is now associated with.

During the annual Kwankwasiyya Sallah festival, Obi addressed a large and energetic crowd, many of whom chanted “Obi-Kwankwaso,” signalling growing enthusiasm around a potential alliance between the two political heavyweights.

Despite the political undertones, Obi maintained that his visit was primarily for the Eid-el-Fitr celebrations and to honour Kwankwaso.

However speaking on the visit in a Twitter space hosted by Parallel Facts News, Rhodes-Vivour said, “ADC will not leave anybody willing to stand and face APC out of coalition,” signaling a readiness to collaborate with other opposition parties to challenge the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC).
