Again, Tinubu Returns Aboard After Visiting Nigeria For Just 9 Days In January
Bola Ahmed Tinubu on Monday travelled to the Republic of Türkiye after spending just 9 days following his recent visit to Nigeria on January 17 2026.
Following the latest trip, Bola Tinubu has now spent just 9 days out of 31 day in January despite pressing National issues.

According to a statement by Special Adviser on Information and Strategy, Bayo Onanuga, the trip seeks to reinforce the “existing cordial relations between the two countries and exploring further areas of cooperation in security, education, social development, innovation, and aviation.
Nigerian broadcaster, Oseni Rufai who has been vocal about Bola Tinubu’s frequent foreign trips, questioning their impact on Nigeria’s economy and security. This is as questioned the number of days Tinubu has spent in the country.
Critics argue these trips are a waste of resources, diverting attention from pressing domestic issues like insecurity and poverty.

The opposition African Democratic Congress (ADC) has criticized Tinubu’s trips, stating that nearly 25% of his time has been spent outside the country, and he’s only visited 13 out of 36 states. The ADC also questions the economic justification for these trips, citing billions spent without tangible gains.
