AFCON: Tanzania’s eight-match ban means they will play Zambia without a coach.

Tanzania

Without their coach, Adel Amrouche, Tanzania will take on Zambia in the second game of the ongoing African Cup of Nations, or AFCON, in Cote D’Ivoire.

After claiming that the Moroccan FA was influencing African football, Amrouche outraged and was punished by CAF with a $10,000 fine and an eight-match ban.

The manager of Taifa Stars accused Moroccan FA following his team’s 0-3 loss to Atlas Lions on Wednesday.

The Royal Moroccan Football Federation (RMFF) submitted complaints, and on Thursday, the CAF Disciplinary Committee confirmed the disciplinary action.

Amrouche was accused by the RMFF of saying that Morocco has power within CAF to set up games and make decisions.

Tanzania sacked the Amrouche in a statement released by the Tanzania Football Federation on Friday, in response to the match ban and penalties.

In his place, TFF named Hemed Morocco as an interim coach.
