Abuja Kidnappers Kill 3 of 10 Victims, Increase Ransom to N700m

Kidnappers who abducted 10 residents from Sagwari Layout, Dutse, Abuja on January 7 have reportedly killed three of their captives as a grim message to relatives negotiating the ransom.

The perpetrators, who had initially demanded N60 million per person, have now upped the ante to N100 million, bringing the total ransom sought to a staggering N700 million.

Sources reveal that the victims, including a 13-year-old high school student named Folorunsho Ariyo, met their tragic fate due to perceived delays in meeting the kidnappers’ financial demands.

This disturbing incident follows reports that the same criminal group, operating in Bwari villages, had previously killed one of six abducted persons to expedite the ransom payment.

Dutse, situated in the Bwari Area Council of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), is now grappling with heightened tension as aggrieved residents of Sagwari Layout gear up for a massive protest.

Expressing frustration over what they perceive as government and security agencies’ inaction, the residents initially planned to stage the protest on Monday but postponed it to Tuesday in light of Armed Forces Remembrance Day.
