Israel, A Small Nation, Didn’t Let Arabs Wipe Them Out; If Tinubu Government Can’t Defend You, Get ‘Walking Stick’ And Protect Yourself — Pastor Ibiyeomie Tells Nigerian Christians

Founder of Salvation Ministries, Pastor David Ibiyeomie, has urged Nigerian Christians to take personal responsibility for their security, citing Israel as an example of a small nation that successfully defended itself against hostile neighbours.

During a recent sermon, the pastor warned that waiting for government protection may leave citizens vulnerable. “Israel, though small, never allowed its enemies to wipe it out. If the  government cannot defend you, get a ‘walking stick’ and defend yourself,” he said.

Pastor Ibiyeomie called on congregations to be vigilant and proactive, emphasizing the need for both spiritual and practical preparedness amid Nigeria’s growing insecurity challenges.

‘‘Israel is a small nation. They didn’t allow Arabs to kill them. Stop! God can’t defend you if you don’t defend yourself. Defend yourself, Christians in the north. Stop waiting for them. They can’t defend you. Israel didn’t wait for anybody to defend them—they defended themselves.

‘’Get out! You two go and get your walking stick. Get your… what? Get your walking stick. I said walking stick. Get out!

‘’It’s possible to stay in the midst of your enemies and still rule. Israel is in the midst of their enemies, but they didn’t allow them to subdue them. It’s possible to live there and be feared.

‘’I was meditating and thinking: in America, why haven’t they abolished God’s law? If they did, all these smart people, like in Nigeria, would misbehave. But nobody misbehaves in America because neighbors hold each other accountable. If God’s law were abolished in America, what happens in Nigeria would happen there too. When you know your neighbor has God’s law, you’d be foolish to enter his house with bad intentions.”
