No Going Back On Our Congresses And Convention Dates Despite ‘Illegal Actions’ By Amupitan-Led INEC — ADC

The African Democratic Congress (ADC) has declared that it will not back down on its scheduled congresses and national convention, despite what it described as “illegal actions” by the Amupitan-led Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC).

INEC chairman, had warned the African Democratic Congress (ADC) that holding their planned convention could cost them the 2027 elections.

Amupitan stated that even if ADC wins the polls, a court could invalidate their victory and declare the first runner-up as the winner if the party proceeds with the convention in violation of electoral rules.

However, In a counter statement issued on Friday, the party spokesperson, Bolaji Abdullahi maintained that all preparations for its internal political activities remain on course, stressing that no external interference would derail its plans.

The ADC accused the electoral body of acting outside its legal boundaries, insisting that the commission’s actions were both unjustified and unacceptable.

The party further reaffirmed its commitment to due process, while urging its members nationwide to remain steadfast and proceed with the planned congresses and convention.
