‘You Will Regret Allowing Nigerian Christians To Be Killed Without Doing Anything,’ American Missionary, Barbir Tells Tinubu, Says Genocide Can No Longer Be Denied Following Anguwan Rukuba Attack

American missionary Alex Barbir has issued a strongly worded warning to Bola Tinubu, saying the former Lagos governor will “regret” what he described as a failure to act decisively in the face of continued killings of Christians.

Reacting to the recent attack in Anguwan Rukuba, Jos, Plateau State, Barbir alleged that the persistent violence against Christian communities has reached a level that can no longer be ignored or downplayed.

He argued that the pattern of attacks points to what he described as “genocide,” insisting that global attention must be drawn to the situation.

‘’They just murdered over 10 people. Innocent Christians, on Palm Sunday. (Tinubu, where are you? As your people are slaughtered in the night, as you sit in Aso Rock and you do absolutely nothing, you allow your people to be killed again and again and again and again.

‘’When will it stop? When will you hear the cries of Nigerians, of Christians? You can no longer deny genocide. They’re being slaughtered and you say there’s no issue. You will regret (what you are doing.’’

The remarks follow reports of a Palm Sunday attack in the area in which multiple residents were killed by armed assailants. Local accounts say the attackers stormed the community, opening fire on civilians and causing widespread panic, while properties were also reportedly destroyed.

Barbir criticised what he called the lack of decisive response from Nigerian authorities, claiming that continued inaction could embolden perpetrators and worsen the security crisis in affected regions.
