Mob Sets Ablaze Suspected Kidnapper Posing As Lunatic In Ibadan, Recovers SIM Cards, ATM Cards, NIN, Driver’s License (VIDEOS)
Tension gripped Obasa/Sango area of Ibadan, Oyo State on Wednesday night after an angry mob set ablaze a suspected kidnapper, who had been posing as a mentally unstable person in the community.
Eyewitnesses said the suspect had long roamed the area pretending to be a lunatic, drawing little attention from residents.
Suspicion grew on Wednesday when locals noticed unusual behaviour, prompting them to confront him. During a search, the mob discovered multiple items on the suspect, including SIM cards, ATM cards, a National Identification Number (NIN) slip, names of persons believed to be victims and a valid driver’s licence.

Following tensions that erupted in the process, the suspect was attacked and set ablaze before police arrived at the scene to take the near lifeless body.
Ibadan and its surrounding communities have recently experienced a rise in insecurity, with reports of kidnapping, armed robbery, and sporadic attacks by suspected terrorist groups.
